what's happening

it's been a while since i have written anything of substance. a long while. [not counting work, which is filled with writing all day long]. what has been going on?

work. too much work. way too much. lots of changes. restructuring. increased expectations and pressure. waiting for an anvil to fall on my head. not a good way to live.

urban skye. summer hiatus. uncertain future. trying to firm up mission and vision. time of change. time of growth.

i've been a truth teller. speaking the truth is sometimes difficult and extremely un-fun.

haven't knitted anything. haven't taken any great photographs. haven't made any polaroid transfers. haven't written anything more in depth than a home depot list. haven't read much.

i have pulled a lot of weeds and decoupaged a cow and wrestled with God.

how now, white cow

Ok, so the resolution from my cell phone cam without a flash or natural light leaves a lot to be desired. But at least you can get an idea of the size of the bovine in my living room. Better, clearer photos to come this weekend.

A couple of months ago I was able to attend a reading and booksigning by Anne Lamott at the Tattered Cover. Favorite author, favorite bookstore.

(not so) holy cow

There is a cow in my living room. Yes, a cow. A fiberglass cow. 95" long x 29" wide x 57" high with an 83" girth. What the @#$!, you ask? Through a series of random connections, a friend and I landed a gig decoupaging sheet music onto a cow which will be part of Cow Parade Denver in a few weeks. At first, the garage seemed the optimum place for this, but then the temperature started hovering above ninety every day. So we invited Cow 1567 inside. Decoupaging a cow is much easier in theory than in practice. Largely because she is quite, er, curvaceous. I'll try to get some photos up in the next few days.

maybe some real content soon?

Well, after posting mindless tidbits of junk here for a while, and then nothing for 3+ months, I'm gonna try and take the plunge into regular entries.......with some substance.
